QUALITY  MANAGEMENT  PRINCIPLES

Quality management principle no. 5: Improvement

Continual improvement is essential for pretty much every organization. Organizations have to adjust to constantly and rapidly changing framework conditions to maintain their level of performance and create new opportunities. In quality management, we distinguish between incremental and breakthrough improvements. Both, however, are intended to improve process performance and customer satisfaction and prevent nonconformities. In any case, the leadership needs to create an environment conducive to change, for example by providing resources for improvement projects, offering rewards for improvement ideas or establishing an innovation process in the organization.
